Rovaniemi is a popular tourist destination, especially during the winter months. It is known for its stunning natural beauty, including the Northern Lights, and is also the official home town of Santa Claus. Tourists come to Rovaniemi for various activities such as visiting Santa Claus Village, reindeer and husky rides, ice fishing, and skiing. Day 1

• Arrive Into Rovaniemi Airport

The best way to get to Rovaniemi is by flying directly into its airport, Rovaniemi (RNV) or via Helsinki (HEL) in case no direct flights exist.  From here, car with the driver

Upon arrival, driver will pick you up and transfer you to a chosen hotel located approximately 20 minutes from the airport

Day 2

A driver will pick you up for 1 hour drive to Kemi, a point of the departure of the icebreaker cruise

• Sampo Ice Breaker

Sampo, the former icebreaker for the Finnish government, offers a unique cruise experience on the Gulf of Bothnia. Let the magical moments in arctic nature blow you away. Witness the arctic sunrise on a morning cruise or experience the exclusive blue moment as the sun starts to set in the evening. Feel the arctic freedom on the deck or relax in the warm indoors sipping hot beverages in Icebreaker Bar. Before returning to the port, the ship will make a one-hour stop to enable each visitor to participate in the ice floating event, comfortably dressed in survival suits.

Pure Northern Nature is their Main Ingredient. Their food philosophy is to use ingredients from the purest nature and prepare them in Arctic ways. High quality reindeer, moose, salmon, arctic char, king crab and Finnish beef are carefully prepared to make a tasteful experience.

Day 3

• Reindeer Safari to Santa Claus Village (6 hours long)

Come and discover the secrets of Santa Claus and his trusted helpers! Meet Mr. Father Christmas himself, visit Santa’s Official Post Office, do some shopping and enjoy delicious lunch.

• Lunch in the Santa Claus Village

After lunch, we head for the snowmobiles and drive to a local reindeer farm. Meet the reindeer, try a short reindeer sleigh ride, take part in special “Crossing of the Arctic Circle” ceremony and after a splendid day we return back to the city by snowmobiles. Crossing the Arctic Circle Certificate is given to you as a gift at the end of the safari.

Fresh birch leaves from the side of a wildly running river, reindeer wandering the rocky fells of Salla and the northernmost pike perch fished from a lightly iced lake have all imbued themselves with the clean and fresh northern soil, absorbed all the naturalness that Lapland has to offer. The scents, the flavours, the frost, the sun and the sounds are all reasons for the special contents of our menu.

Day 4

• Walk around the city | Break Time

There is are a few buildings which are emblematic of Aalto: Town Hall, the theater, and library, all of which are located in the same area. The perspective, the fan-shaped library and the tower for its height and shape that comprises vertical accent.  Some shopping at the local mall especially for some Nordic food items is not to be missed

Fantastic place in the city centre to go for have some beers, burgers and the pizza. The food is fantastic! The reindeer burger is super tasty and the pizzas are to die for. The place is cozy and charming with retro decoration that are all for sale.

• Husky Safari

Experience the joy of mushing your own team of huskies through wintry landscapes! The husky musher will welcome you at the reception of the resort and walk with you to the kennel where the Alaskan huskies will happily greet you. Before the start of the safari, the husky musher will show how to steer your own sleigh. Enjoy the surrounding nature and the silence while the huskies take you to a trip to remember. After the husky ride you return to the kennel to hear facts and stories of huskies and enjoy hot drinks by the campfire.

Bistro food in cozy French atmosphere, Spanish tapas, handmade Italian pasta, flavours and wines around the world – they bring them near you to Rovaniemi! Roka Kitchen & Winebar is a new hotspot for gastronomic experiences, great wines and cocktails.

• Aurora Borealis Adventure by Car

We drive away from the city, away from Ylläs village lights, to find an ideal spot for observing the Northern Lights. On clear night we can admire the night sky and stars and if we are lucky – even the magical Northern Lights, as known as Aurora Borealis. On Ylläs meridian the change to see this amazing phenomenon is really good so let’s gross our fingers the night is good for us! Your guide is happy to help you with camera settings if you wish to take pictures. During the stop you warm ourselves by the fire and enjoy a Finnish style grilling.

Day 5

During your memorable visit, the guide will tell you about the construction, operation and special features of the SnowHotel. The visit includes a guided tour of SnowHotel, hot berry juice and biscuits.

• Enjoy Drink @ Ice Bar

At the Ice Bar you don’t order a drink with ice, you order a drink in ice. A frozen icy glass gives the drinks a totally new dimension and the experience is beyond compare. The ice walls of the bar also have odd, yet magnificent audio qualities. They will definitely get your feet tapping, and you are sure to keep on smiling in the Ice Bar.

The Ice Restaurant built of snow and ice provides a unique setting for an unforgettable dinner; serving up hot Lappish delicacies savoured around ice tables. Culinary enjoyment commences with a rich mushroom soup and is finished off with the delicious SnowHotel’s soft chocolate delight, which in line with the theme, is served on a magnificent ice platter. We guarantee it tastes as good as it looks!

• Aurora Borealis Adventure by Snowmobile at Night

The eSled – electric snowmobile is an innovative new way to experience the Arctic splendour without disturbing the silent peace of wintry nature. • Spend a night in the Ice Room

The art suites, are our individually designed and sculpted thematic suites. The artists, perhaps from Kiruna, Germany, UK or the US have been picked from over two-hundred applicants and invited to make the suite you’ll be sleeping in. Each suite is unique and has never been created before. The rooms hold a temperature of -5 to -8 degrees Celsius. The bed you sleep on has a thick mattress that rests on a wooden base. The bed is covered with reindeer hides and you sleep in a thermal sleeping bag. Instead of doors the hotel rooms have curtains that you draw to give you and your company privacy.

Day 6

• Move to Igloo Accommodations

After the night in the Ice Hotel right next to it there are also warm and comfortable glass igloos. Spend the night in a nice and warm bed and enjoy the night sky. Watching the Auroras doesn’t get any better than this! We can’t guarantee the light show but if you are lucky, it’s an experience of a lifetime. The igloos — All sky vision in complete comfort, warmly insulated, all-sky thermal-glass roofs with 360-degree view for the sky.

• Lunch @ Hotel Log Restaurant

And the hearty buffet breakfast of Log is a perfect start for the day! The building made from massive logs is a magnificent sight in itself.

• Feed the Reindeer

Spend few minutes feeding local Reindeers that live on the hotel premises.  These majestic animals will eat directly off your hands.

• Sauna Experience & Outdoor Jacuzzi

Snow Sauna is the only one in the world, made completely of snow. Can you enjoy sauna in the snow? Yes, you can, in this delightfully humid steam room with snow walls. The Snow Sauna will definitely not leave you cold! Enjoy the cool fresh air whole relaxing in the Jacuzzi! In the outdoor Jacuzzi you can admire the Northern Lights or the spectacular starry night skies of Lapland. Warm water and cool air is a magical combination!

The blazing fire creates a magical ambiance in the small kota shelter. The speciality dish of Kota Restaraunt is the mouth-watering glow-fried salmon fillet. Salmon doesn’t get tastier than this! You can also choose between meat or vegetarian dishes when enjoying dinner at Kota Restaurant.

• Drinks @ Sky Bar

On the ground floor you can find a lounge-type of bar that serves cocktails with a local twist along with other drinks and small snacks. When it is dark and the sky is clear, we recommend to head to the second floor where you can hopefully see the northern lights through the glass roof!
